Guesthouse SHIKI is located between Kyoto and Nara, making it a very convenient base for sightseeing. From the nearest station, Tamamizu, it takes just 29 minutes by rapid train to Kyoto and 14 minutes to Nara.　The house you will stay in is a well-ventilated traditional Japanese home with over 80 years of history. You can enjoy the natural scent of wood and relax as if it's your second home.

Guesthouse SHIKI is a homestay-style accommodation, where guests stay with the host in a traditional Japanese setting.

We offer opportunities to connect with the local community through the attached Meiboku Café SHIKI and the Tamamizu Night Market held every weekend.

Most of our guests are travelers from overseas who enjoy experiencing everyday Japanese life.
Our friendly resident dog, “Wabisuke,” is also here to warmly welcome you.
